Tucson Gold is a New Zealand born champion, born 14/4/2002, carrying excellent genetic bloodlines from both parents.

He has had numerous show wins. NZ Southern Tucson Gold won Supreme Champion huacaya at the Royal Show 2002.

Tucson Gold's fleece won Champion at Auckland Royal Easter Show 2004.

Tucson Gold won Champion Senior at  Rotorua Show 2005 and Franklin Show 2005.

Tucson Gold's fleece demonstrates quality not only in the blanket, but into the leg, belly and brisket with a remarkable 85% of total shear being 1st grade fleece.

 His progeny impress as well. They are usually coloured, in the light fawn to brown range.

Tucson's cria are also following in their father's footsteps, with exhibiting well in the show ring. 

NZ Southern White Gold (pictured left) was placed at National Expo 2008.

Riverdale Fonz won Supreme Champion at Franklin Show 2007 and Champion Male at Franklin Show 2008.

 

 

 

 
Moon Shine

 

 Pedigree: Tucson Gold brings famous genetics, which are reflected in his cria (some pictured above).

His sire, Benleigh Moon Shine, left, is one of the most successful sires in NZ with 230 registered descendants who have won 149 show ribbons, including 16 Championships and 3 Supremes. Moon Shine brings Purrumbete Inti, and Purrumbete Ledger's Dream genetics.

His dam, Cremorne Jo Jo is one of the few females with a reputation envying a stud male, producing 3 Supreme Champion cria. She brings Purrumbete Highlander genetics.


Tucson Gold is available in both the North and South Islands.

  Tucson Gold was bred  by Southern Alpacas Stud in Christchurch and is co-owned with Riverdale Alpacas in Otorohanga and services both North and South Islands.
