Brutus

Quality boys to become studs

We breed for champion alpacas.

Our heritage of top class genetics is outstanding sourced from this country and overseas. Famous sire Brutus has some excellent progeny, now available as entire males for stud duties.

You can access these genetics with a young stud from the famous Hemingway bloodlines.

A comprehensive range of young studs  for sale in Europe - make your selection below.

Championship alpacas to improve your herd

ILR Alpine Fiber's Brutus has created a name for himself. His cria had won 90 championships and 20 supreme champions and Brutus had had 40 placings in sire's progeny in his first three show seasons. We stopped counting in 2008!

His progeny are standing at stud in NZ and Europe, continuing the famous Hemingway lines from the USA.

Bellini fleece Bellini NZ Southern Bellini
Born 05/12/11

A solid medium brown male from an excellent fawn sire (Aquaviva Titus top fawn Brutus son) and brown EP Cambridge Roulade, who has ILR Peruvian Don Julio in her background.

Bellini is the full brother of Martius and both are show champions. Bellini was Best Brown and Reserve Champion Junior at South Otago Show 2012 and Champion Brown at Nelson Show 2013. Bellini is now in France.

His first fleece (pictured) is 16.9 m; 2.7 sd; 15.7% cv with 100% cf. It is a dense, fine, well-structured fleece with high frequency crimp, quite rare in a darker brown alpaca. It won Reserve Champion Brown fleece at Nelson Show 2013.

NZ Southern Trevo
Born 04/03/12

A solid black male from an excellent black sire (Maipo) and a black dam, NZ Southern Pyrallini, herself sired by Waradene Pyralis on his way through NZ to the UK where he is a top grey stud.

Trevo has been shown once and won Champion Black at Nelson Show 2013 in a strong black field, including several from NZ's top black breeders.

His first fleece was 16.1 m; 4.2sd; 25.8% cv with 99% cf. Second fleece was 17.4 m; 3.9sd; 22.6% cv with 99% cf. It is a fine fleece with excellent crimp style and a very high degree of lustre. He will remain low micron throughout his life.

Trevo is the full brother of Trevo II who is now resident in France. Trevo is ready and keen to work.
